Come, you who long to live in God’s love. 

Let us lift our hearts to the One who never passes by. 

We gather to worship the One who teaches mercy. 

God sees the hurting and draws near in compassion. 

In God’s presence, the wounded are restored. 

In God's house, the stranger becomes the neighbor. 

Let us offer our praise to the God of boundless grace. 

Let us worship our Almighty God.

Holy God, you call us to love with boldness, but we are timid in our efforts. You teach us to see strangers as kin, but we choose to be blind. You show us mercy without measure, but we judge others instead. We have failed to be a neighbor, not in theory, but in practice. We confess that we build up barriers, nurture prejudice, feed fear, and make excuses. We keep your Word at arm’s length and your people at a distance. Forgive us. Plant your compassion deep within us, until love becomes the law we live by.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Gracious and generous God, all that we have belongs to you. It is from you that we receive our resources, our energy, our attention, and our days. We offer these gifts not out of obligation, but as acts of trust and love. Bless our offerings and the hearts that bring them and the hands that will use them. Transform them into a balm for those in need, a tool for justice, and a light of welcome in dark places. Multiply these gifts not only in number but in impact. We give so that your mercy is made visible through the ministry of this church and the witness of our lives, in the name of Christ our Lord.
